strAv3L: Vinho Verde (Young Wine)

Vinho Verde or Young Wine is a Portuguese wine from the northern region of Minho. It owes its name because it is bottled and consumed within short time in opposition to mature wine.
There are several types of it but the most common and appreciated is the young white wine.
There are many good brands and producers and a big range of prices with very good quality. We could mention Alvarinho, Muralhas de Monção or even a most "commercial" brand like Gazela.

Today we suggest Tormes, which has an excellent relation price/quality and comes from the vineyards and cellars that once bellonged to the Portuguese writer Eça de Queirós and that now are managed by the Foundation Eça de Queirós. It's made from Avesso and Arinto grapes, with a taste of pears, apples and cantaloupe. Its flavour is both dry and refreshing.

strAv3L: Intensive Language Learning Program of Portuguese for Foreigners

Study – Intensive Language Learning Program of Portuguese for Foreigners

strAveL gives you the possibility to spend three days with a Portuguese tutor, who will also be your host and who will be with you throughout your stay. Thus, you will be in permanent contact with the Portuguese language in a real learning context. In a moment you are having a theoretical lesson on going to a restaurant, in the next moment you will have the opportunity to practice what you were taught, having a nice meal in a local restaurant and enjoying the Portuguese delicious cuisine. The idea is to offer you an informal learning environment, being the contents focused on conversation and practical matters and where the student can immediately (self)evaluate his/her evolution and the program’s result. Furthermore, the contents are also agreed between the student and the tutor, in order to meet the client’s needs.

Wine: one of Portugal biggest asset

Portugal is known for its great wines. And, undoubtedly, we do have great wines. Good for every dish, every moment, every season of the day. Whether a red from Alentejo, a rosé from Ribatejo, white from Douro or green from Minho.
In strAv3L we like to share our best wines with our guests.
Our host was born and raised in Ribatejo, so she has a special taste for Ribatejo wines.
Today, she suggests the Rosé Conde de Vimioso. It's great for summer days and it has a great price/quality relation. Made from Touriga Nacional and Syrah, it has a dense flavour of berries, cherries and strawberries.
Cheers!

Amazing Beaches South Tejo

Portugal is well appreciated for the good weather.
These sunny days are an invitation to meet some of our most beautiful beaches within the mind-blowing scenery of Serra da Arrábida.
One of them is «Portinho da Arrábida» with its clear blue waters and white sand beaches.

Troia: golden beaches and dolphins

On a beautiful sunny sunday like this, we'd suggest a day spend at Troia.
Troia is a peninsula located in the municipality of Grandola, bathed by Sado and very close to Setubal.
Its natural beauty is due to its long beaches facing the Atlantic, with 17km of golden sands bathed by blue waters.
You can drive there by car or make a shortcut by catching the ferryboat from Setubal (15minutes journey). If you choose the latter, you might be lucky to sight the Sado dolphins.

strAv3L: Tortas de Azeitão (Portuguese pastry)

In the same location where you can find the cellars of José Maria da Fonseca (Azeitão), you can also have a taste on a typical product of pastry from the region of Azeitão (Setúbal).
Here, the ex-libris of the region are the «tortas de Azeitão» (Azeitão rolls), egg-based and with a slight taste of lemon and cinnamon.

strAveL, the concept

strAveL, the concept
Thinking about learning Portuguese? Planning to visit Portugal? What if you could combine a weekend get away with an intensive language learning program, accommodation and a touristic and cultural package?
Those are the main ideas behind the concept of strAveL!

strAveL offers accommodation in a private residence, where you are welcome to feel at home but with the benefits

of a hotel. At the same time you are discovering a Portuguese city or region, you are offered the possibility of learning the Portuguese language in a real context: having a meal at a restaurant, asking for a coffee at a Portuguese café terrace, shopping, going to the theatre or simply having a conversation with your host, the Portuguese tutor, Angie Lázaro, who will also be your touristic and cultural promoter.

strAveL also gives you the possibility to attend a workshop, according to your desire: cake design, costume jewellery, make-up, regional Portuguese pastry, regional Portuguese cuisine, etc.

strAveL is characterized not only by the concept of «all-in-one» but also for presenting you a program proposal according to your profile and aims.
